U.S. and Iran Enter Direct Kinetic Warfare Following Collapse of Ceasefire

The Persian Gulf has descended back into open kinetic warfare following President Donald Trump’s formal termination of the June memorandum of understanding (MoU). Speaking at a NATO summit in Ankara, President Trump declared the diplomatic agreement "over," citing Iranian aggression against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, U.S. forces launched a massive wave of strikes against more than 80 Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets and coastal sites, including locations in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, and Sirik. Tehran responded immediately by targeting 85 U.S. military installations across the Middle East. Iranian officials confirmed drone attacks on Isa Air Base in Bahrain and assets in Kuwait, prompting air raid sirens across those host nations. The military escalation is being accompanied by severe economic measures. The U.S. has reimposed comprehensive oil sanctions on Iran, revoking all existing waivers to block Tehran's energy sales. These developments have sent shockwaves through global markets, causing oil prices to surge and stock indices to drop. There are growing international concerns that the conflict will lead to a prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for the world’s energy supply.
