Tensions Escalate as Iran Targets Kuwaiti Infrastructure and Executes Dissidents

Diplomatically, Iran has renewed its threats to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Domestically, the Iranian regime has accelerated its crackdown on internal dissent. On March 30, authorities executed two members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), Mohammad Taghavi and Ali Akbar Daneshvarkar. The executions, carried out on charges of armed operations and collusion against national security, have been condemned by opposition leaders as a sign of the regime's growing fear of domestic uprisings amidst mounting external military and economic pressure.
